Shuler Hensley Awards for Excellence

Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre

The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre Foundation presents the Shuler Hensley Awards. Fashioned after Broadway’s Tony® Awards, this program celebrates excellence in high school musical theater. The award is named in honor of Shuler Hensley, a native of Atlanta Georgia, who is a winner of the Tony® Award, Outer Critics Circle Award, and the Drama Desk Award, among many others. The evening embodies a spirit of camaraderie and celebration of the arts in high schools across the metro-Atlanta region. Following a VIP reception and a festive red carpet event, the ceremony is a glittering evening of celebration which features 15 awards presented by regional and national celebrities. Interspersed with the presentations are stellar performances by students involved with the program. The awards program is open to all high schools in the metro-Atlanta area wishing to participate, and there is no fee charged to schools for their involvement.
