2009 Event Details
The first-annual National High School Musical Theater Awards™ were held on Monday, June 29, 2009, at 7:30 p.m. at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, New York University.
Student performers, selected by 16 participating professional theaters from across the country, participated in five days of rehearsals, master classes, private coaching sessions and interviews with theater professionals. The events culminated in a live awards show hosted by Broadway veteran and television personality Kathie Lee Gifford. The Jimmy Award™ for Best Performance by an Actor and Best Performance by an Actress were presented during the ceremony.
